Many years ago while the Buckeyes still played at St. John Arena, my wife and I shared a season ticket with Phil and Nancy.  When we went to split the games up, Nancy bargained harder than Phil for the best.  As they say in baseball, she was a tough out.  May God rest her soul and bring peace and comfort to the Ballinger family.

I remember the first time I met Nancy when Monica introduced me to her mother. She didn’t know me, but came right up and gave me the biggest hug and told me how happy she was to meet me. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all those who knew her. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss, Ballinger & Powers family.

Dear Phil,   My heart breaks for you during this difficult time in your life.   56 years is a wonderful tribute to your love and commitment.  I'm sorry I never had a chance to meet Nancy.   I'm sure she and I would have made fast friends.   Thinking of you and praying for your grief to be less sadness and more remembrance of fun times you shared.  I pray for Nancy's soul to be at peace.

Oh Phil, I am so sorry. And to the entire family--what a loss for you too. It is never easy to lose your mate, or a Mama, or a Nana, especially when it is a sudden loss. I met Nancy a few times at OSRT meetings. She was always so sweet and easy to talk with. Her life as a volunteer is special. My deepest sympathy to you and the family.

I am so sorry to learn about Nancy’s passing. She was very dear to me; very kind and caring and patient. She was also excellent at jigsaw puzzles! I don’t know what her secret was. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend and want Phil, Eric, and Monica to know that Nancy will be missed and they were blessed to have her in their family. Much love to all of you.
