Irma Mae Russell
Irma Mae RussellCookIrma Mae Russell, 96 of Richwood, died Thursday January 15, 2026 at Marion General Hospital.

She was born August 25, 1929 in Santoy to the late Thomas Earl and Grace (Gartin) Barron. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Floyd Russell, they were married September 23, 1949 in Millfield and he died February 20, 1991. She was also predeceased by a great grandson Grant Kanning, brother, Raymond Barron and sisters Ollie Barron, Emily Bicknell, Geneva Dawson and Hazel Cales, and son-in-law Russell Goodwin.

Irma was a homemaker who loved fixing Holiday and Sunday dinners for her family. Going camping at Indian Lake and Wolf Creek was a favorite of hers. She loved playing cards with family and doing word search puzzles. Her greatest joy was babysitting for a lot of the local children and watching them grow.

Surviving are children, Jane Goodwin of Columbus, Bob (Barb) Russell and Bryan Russell of Richwood.
Grandchildren Rob (Anissia) Goodwin, Angie (David) Kanning, Jennifer (Matthew) Baughman, and Brooke Russell.
Great-grandchildren Devin Goodwin, Abigail Goodwin, Carter Kanning, Tyler Huff, Trace Huff, Kaelyn Huff and great great grandchild Oliver Goodwin.
Also survived by nieces Sharon Barron, Karen Hill and Debi Pingle.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday January 21, 2026 at 12 noon at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate. Burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home in Richwood.
