 Betty Lou Wooten, 77 of Prospect, died peacefully early Thursday morning November 27, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born July 9, 1948 in Union County to the late Clyde and Evelyn M. (Adkins) Lester. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Wooten, they were married June 18, 1966 in Marion and he died December 7, 2020. Also preceding her in death is a granddaughter, Lindsay Wooten, a great granddaughter, Willow Pickens and siblings, Kenneth Lester, Shelba Childers and Donna Cochran.
Betty was a 1966 graduate of Richwood High School. She was a member of Stoney Ridge United Baptist Church in Carey. She retired from Tri-Rivers Career Center in Early Childhood Education.
Betty loved spending time with her loving family, especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed going to garage sales and craft shows with her sisters. Betty loved the times she was able to travel with her family.
Betty was an avid doll collector and enjoyed going to her grandkids and great grandkids events.
Surviving are her children, Laura (Bill) Wixtead of Marion, Amanda Wooten of Prospect and Wesley Wooten of Marion.
Grandchildren, Adam (Libby) Wixtead, Brooke (Justin) Owens, Makenzie (Ethan) Pickens, Kayla (Michael) Forry, Macy Wooten, Lanie Wooten and Silas Wooten
Great grandchildren, Austin and Aubrey Wixtead, Lexia, Payton and Justin Jr. Owens, Jayden Ulery, Lukah Pickens, Kenton, Karlena, Kinzlynn and Kooper Forry.
Sister, Doris (Dave) McCarty and brother-in-law, Bill Childers
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Patrick Gilliland will officiate. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home in Richwood.
Memorial gifts may be made to Compassus Hospice at 1713 Marion-Mt Gilead Rd suite 107, Marion, OH 43302

Dear Laura, Mandy and Wes. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was such a sweet person. She made days at McDonalds fun. My dad was always a fan of her peanut butter fudge. Sending prayers to your family. Susie Spears.
