Lois Maxine Schmidt
Lois Maxine SchmidtRed Rose2Lois Maxine Schmidt, 101, formerly of New Bloomington, died Monday September 29, 2025 at the Marion General Hospital.

She was born August 25, 1924 in Bowling Green Township to the late Ralph W. and Millie G. (Clixby) Kraner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas “JT” Schmidt, they were married June 19, 1948 and he died August 10, 2009. She was also predeceased by a sister.

Lois was an active member of the New Bloomington Community. She retired from Wyandot Popcorn in 1979 in the accounting department. Lois was a longtime, active member of the New Bloomington United Methodist Church. She had also belonged to the United Methodist Women of the church.

Surviving is her longtime friends and care givers, Jeanne and the late Jim Pryor and their families, Terry (Yanna) Sparks and Karena (Mark Taylor) Pryor.

Graveside services will be held Thursday October 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Agosta Cemetery. Pastor Kathy Herr will officiate.

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lois was such a beautiful person. Live a long life. Her husband JT graduated with my mother. Also visited many times at our house. Rest in Peace.

Lois was a good friend .  I will miss her. RIP, my friend.  I’m sure she was met , in heaven,  by John, with open arms.

Lois is my cousin and what a caring and giving person she was. So many wonderful memories with Lois, wild John, Aunt Mille and Sarah Jane.
