Joyce I. Murphy
Joyce I. MurphyMurphy FamilyJoyce I. Murphy, 87 of LaRue, died Wednesday February 26, 2025 at the Marion General Hospital.

She was born December 13, 1937 in LaRue to the late Lonnie and Doris (Teeters) Wygle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Murphy, they were married December 29, 1957 at the LaRue United Methodist Church and he died June 26, 2021.

Joyce was a 1957 graduate of LaRue High School. She was a homebody who didn’t care much for traveling.  She also stated that she didn’t like pets, but she was always the one taking care of the puppies and kittens all through the night.
Joyce was a true homemaker, her calling in life was taking care of her family.

Surviving are their sons: Dennis (Pat) Murphy of Byhalia, Mark Murphy of LaRue and Randy (Brenda) Murphy of LaRue.
Grandchildren: Kimberly (Nick) Anthony, Jessica Murphy, Rebecca Murphy, Brittany (Justin) Hawk, Colton Griffith and Tyler Griffith
9 great grandchildren
Sisters, Barb Price of Marion and Carolyn (John) Goodin of Decliff
Sister-in-law, Rose Wilson of Weston, Ohio

Graveside services will be held Monday March 3, 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Price Cemetery. Pastor Kathy Herr will officiate. Private calling hours will be held.

Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

The Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
