Gale Price
Gale PriceFlagGale Price, 92 of Richwood, passed away Friday February 21, 2025 at Ohio Living, Sarah Moore Assisted Living in Delaware.

He was born October 17, 1932 in LaRue to the late Morris and Lenore (Cahill) Price. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Glenn, Howard, Arthur and Gene Price.

Gale spent most of his childhood on the family farm. He was a 1950 graduate of LaRue High School, where he was active in FFA, played in the band and played football. He also raised hogs, showing them and winning at the Ohio State Fair.

Gale served our country in the United States Army. He served in Korea and was discharged as a Corporal. He had the opportunity to take the Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2016, Gale said it was a very special trip.

He retired as a Maintenance Supervisor after 39  yrs. at the Whirlpool Corp. in Marion. If it needed fixed or installed, Gale could do it or instruct others to do it. He passed along these traits to his loving family. Following retirement, he helped out with the family farm.

Not one to sit still, Gale rode with the Ohio Highway Patrol as an Auxiliary for a number of years. He was a member of the Baccarat American Legion Post #40 in Richwood and an Honorable Kentucky Colonel.

Gale is survived by his wife of 64 yrs., Janice (Houk) Price, their three children, Teresa Gosser of Columbus, Gale Price of Janesville, Wisconsin and Gene (Teri) Price of Marion.
Grandchildren, Matthew (Caroline) Rado, Amanda (Stuart Lightfoot) Rado, Michael (Erika) Rado, Isabelle Gosser, Gale William Price and Arthur John Price  
Great grandchildren, Henry Rado-Lightfoot, Estella Rado-Lightfoot, Oscar Lightfoot, Cecily Rado, Beatrice Rado, Joan Rado and Rainer Rado.
Family included numerous beloved nieces and nephews and extended family

Gale was a quiet, kind person who will be missed greatly!

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate. Burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery, where there will be Military Honors given by the Vietnam Veterans of America #1095.
Friends may call Friday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home in Richwood.

Gale was a very nice man. i knew him at Whirlpool, and he worked with my dad. I would see him in town and we would chat. Sorry for your loss.

When I was growing up we had lots of great neighbors on Blaine Avenue. The Prices were in that group. Sorry for your loss. One of the nicest people you could ever meet.
