We are so sorry. I worked on the farm for Ralph and Clyde for several years starting when I was 13 bailing hay for 1.00/hr. The best part was Doris's cooking. Our group at Al's will sure miss him. Clyde left us to go be with Jesus. We are praying for Lucille, Rachel and family.

So very sad to hear. Sending our prayers to the Sappington family. Mr. Sappington farmed the field across the road from us many years ago. He would alway wave when he saw us or the kids outside. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Clyde and my dad, Harold Miller, knew each other for many years. He farmed my dad’s land on Williamsport Road. I remember when he and dad would stand out by the combine just talking up a storm when they both knew that should be working. On behalf of the Miller family I would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the Sappington family.

Clyde was one of a kind, a great one! I first became acquainted with Clyde working with him conducting Marion Co Jr Fair. As 4-H Agent (Educator) and Clyde on Fair board we spent many hour’s enthusiastically working together providing those ‘Fair’ experiences for thousands of youth. Later we served together as fellow Ridgedale Lions and members of the Marion PERI chapter. Always a positive, focused and congenial friend. My deepest condolences to all Clyde’s family.

As both a cousin and a schoolmate, I always thought of Clyde as a lifelong best friend, making sure we got together for a visit every time I got back to Ohio. I remember how we shared being managers of the Meeker basketball teams, and looked forward to getting out of study hall by going to the gym to clean the basketballs for the next game.  I watched and appreciated his many activities in  being of lifelong service to his community, the love, commitments and appreciation of his friends and neighbors.  To say the least, it can be said that Clyde lived his life as the best man he could possibly be. My condolences to Rachel and Lucille all all others who were fortunate enough to know him.

So sorry for your loss, was saddened to learn of Clyde's passing. Lots of good memories of Clyde tagging along with my dad on their many-many trips and adventures. Will be praying for a wonderful service on Monday that will give Clyde the respect and honor he deserves and gives glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. I trust that God's peace and love will fill your hearts all the more in Clyde's absence.

Clyde was a great neighbor and fellow farmer.  I loved the twinkle that Clyde would get in his eyes just before he said something witty and made you smile.  I served with Clyde on the Marion County Fairboard and have many good memories of working with him.  One spring, Clyde had lost his hired help on the farm.  Dad and I happened to have finished planting early, so I went to work for Clyde.  He was great to work for, and he even let me off early one day so that I could go on a date with my future wife!  Wherever Clyde and I went, everyone knew Clyde.  He was such a good man, and we will dearly miss him.

I enjoyed working with Clyde at United Producers in Bucyrus for a number of years. My dad, Gene Dumbaugh, and I both thought a lot of Clyde. He called me just two weeks ago to thank me for a card I sent to him. And he made a point to ask me how my grown son was doing. Clyde cared. And it showed.
