Grace Elaine Forrider
Grace Elaine ForriderYellowRoseGrace Elaine Forrider, 84, of Richwood, died early Sunday morning, October 6, 2024 at Legacy of Marion, after an illness of 8 months.

She was born August 31, 1940 in Hemlock Grove, Ohio to the late Homer E. and Carol Evelyn (Heilman) Midkiff.  At an early age her family moved to the Huron area.   In 1958 she graduated as valedictorian from Huron High School.

She went on to get an associate’s degree from Malone College.  At Malone, she met her future husband, Dallas Forrider.  They were married on September 29, 1962 at Milan Friends Church in Milan.  They were married for 61 years before Dallas passed away in June of this year.

A homemaker for most of her life, Grace was heavily involved with her church, Fulton Creek Friends.  She was active in Child Evangelism and taught Jr. Church for nearly 25 years until she quit due to health issues.

Grace enjoyed crafts and was a master with the crochet hook.  She also enjoyed word search puzzles, Agatha Christie novels, and the TV show “Murder, She Wrote.”  Her favorite color was yellow and she loved butterflies.

In 1992 Grace was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor.  She endured a 10-hour surgery and 18 months later, another 13-hour surgery.  Throughout the recoveries and side effects of the surgeries, she maintained her faith, optimism, and sense of humor.

In addition to her husband, Dallas, she was preceded in death by her brother Gary E. Midkiff; brothers-in-law Gene Clady and Ron Forrider; and sister-in-law, Joyce Forrider.

She is survived by her sons, Nathan Forrider of Marion and Matthew Forrider of Richwood; sisters-in-law Ruth Clady of Richwood and Carole Midkiff of Sandusky; brothers-in-law Gerald (Linda) Forrider of Richwood and Keith (Vicki) Forrider of Radnor; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 14, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Fulton Creek Friends Church. Pastor Art Minehan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-5 pm at the church.

We send sympathy and condolences to both you boys. It’s been a very hard year for you and we have and will continue to hold you in prayer.  Your parents were loving people to us when we were part of Fulton Creek’s family.
