Vernon Louis Jones

Vernon Louis Jones,77 of Essex, died Sunday December 5, 2021 at the Marion General Hospital. He was born February 17, 1944 in Belmont County to the late Vernon Lee and Frances Marie (Mazer) Jones. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Donna McCarty. Vernon was part of the first graduating class of Ridgedale, 1962, he had also attended the Ohio State University. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marion. He was retired machinist, having worked for the former Marion Power Shovel, Huber Manufacturing and General Dynamics. Vernon had a passion for playing pool. He also enjoyed tinkering and fixing and making things. Surviving is his wife: Mary Elizabeth (Cramer) Jones, they were married April 4, 1967. Also surviving is their son: Vernon Lewis (Carla Jean) Jones of Essex Grandchildren: Saretta, Sara, Marten, Marc, Nic, Veronica and Nava 11 great grandchildren Due to covid-19 concerns, there will be no services at this time.
