Amellia Bourie Bayes |
 Amellia Bourie Bayes, 54 of Madison, AL passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021. Amellia was born on August 17, 1966, in Fort Huachuca, Arizona to parents David and Lola Creighton.
Survivors include her husband; Robert Bayes; sons; Corey Hege and Joshua Bayes; mother; Lola Creighton; her sister; Brenda Magana; and her children; Garrett Creighton, Misty Knapp; Caitlin (Hoang) Nuygent, Alvin Knapp III
Mother-in-law: Erika Bayes of Richwood
In-laws: James (Sandy Teague) Bayes, Jr., Naples, Florida, April (Benson) Laird, Magnetic Springs and Sharon (Ben Herriott) Hellwarth, Richwood
and a host of nieces and nephews.
Amellia honorably served three and a half years in the United States Air Force as an electrical specialist on the F-15 aircraft with duty assignment on Holloman AFB, NM. Amellia also worked for the Army Air Force Exchange Service as a cashier and shift manager for more than 22 years. Amellia was a wonderful wife and mother, and an outstanding aunt. Amellia took the greatest pleasure in being with her husband, her children and her four fur babies. Amellia enjoyed travelling, watching videos from the various cat rescues she supported and spending time at home with her family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all those who cared for Amellia during her illness, especially the oncology team at The Cancer Center of Huntsville and her oncologist Dr. Rosa Ortega. Amelia will be remembered and in our hearts forever.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday August 19, 2021 at 12 noon at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Pastor Judy Cramer will officiate. There will be Military Honors given by the Richwood Area Veterans. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home in Richwood
