Gordon “Mont” McKinniss |
 Gordon “Mont” McKinniss, 70 of LaRue, died Thursday morning August 12, 2021 at his home.
He was born November 11, 1950 in Forest to the late Darrell W. and Maude L. (Erwin) McKinniss. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Darrell, Larry, Merrill, Connie and Audrey McKinniss, in-laws: Carolyn McKinniss, Wayne Stansbery and Wayne Messenger.
Gordon worked at Mullen Environmental in Upper Sandusky for 8 years until he branched out on his own with McKinniss Contracting and worked that until March of 2021.
He enjoyed spending time in his deer camp, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing cards, listening to music, watching Me TV, nature shows and westerns, construction projects and spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife Robin (Huston) McKinniss, they were married November 8, 1975 in Pound, Va.
Also surviving are their children: Scott McKinniss (Annette), Marseilles, Heather Harford (Steve) Marseilles and Melinda Davies Gilpin, (Vince) Wilkes Barre, PA.
Grandchildren: Shelbee (Nich) Ramirez, Sean (Dakota) Harford, Michaela Alt, Monica McKinniss, Tyler McKinniss, Connor Gilpin, Colleen Gilpin, Kelsey Robison and Bailey Smith
Great Grandchildren: Harper and Hayden Ramirez
Siblings: Sherman (Carol) McKinniss of Palm Desert, Ca., Hilda Stansbery of Xenia, Sheldon (Marji) McKinniss of LaRue, Ella Black of Marion, Carol Messenger of Forest, Arnold (Bonnie) McKinniss of Findlay, Ruth (Joe) Henicle of Woodlawn, Tn. and Tim (Jessica) McKinniss of Findlay
In-laws: Donna McKinniss of Caledonia and Nancy McKinniss of Findlay
He will be greatly missed by his Nieces and Nephews and his faithful companion Bella.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue, Pastor Mike Raypholtz will officiate, burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home in LaRue.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Ohio Division of Wildlife
