Donald R. Black |
 Donald R. Black, 73 of Richwood, died Friday afternoon April 30, 2021 at Brookdale of Marysville.
He was born September 22, 1947 in Marion to the late Dallas and Delores (Rausch) Black.
Don had worked at the former American Can in Delaware and then for many years at P.P.G. in Delaware, part of his job there was working as an E.M.T..
However, his true calling in his work life was photography. He was a talented photographer in the area. His studio, Don’s Photography was known for making special memories at many weddings.
He was a longtime dedicated member of the Springdale Baptist Church; he had served the church in many capacities over the years.
Don had also served his community as a volunteer firefighter and had been a school bus driver. He was also known to be a little bit of a “car guy”.
On April 24, 1981 at the Springdale Baptist Church, he married Patricia A. (Martin), and she survives, also surviving are their children: Kim Black of Delaware, Matt (Dana) Black of Marysville, Lynn Clark of Richwood and Charlie (Marlene) Jones of Nevada
Grandchildren: Taylor (Nick Bujan) Wade, Loegen (Hudson Baxley) Wade, Anthony Black, Holly (Dennis) Karcher, Tony (Emily Moore) Jones, John Lewis, Justin (Audrey) Lewis and Rachel (Joel Dinsmoor) Lewis
Great grandchildren: Bella, Charles and Sara
Sisters: Debby (Bill) Galloway of Marysville and Drudy (Mike) Yoakam of Marysville
Funeral services will be held Friday May 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Springdale Baptist Church, Rev. Rorke Warne officiating. Burial will follow in the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5- 7 pm at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.

My condolence to the whole family but especially to Patricia, Lynn (who has been a neighbor) and Charles whom I remember as a sixth grade student may years ago.

I remember Don many years ago from Scotts at the Taylor Plant when he delivered our inter office mail. Back then it would have been the main office down town, Chem Plant and Taylor Plant. Our mailroom people at that time were students from local area high schools.
