I just found this news today while discussing family with my son, Jason. So sorry to hear of his passing. I remember Uncle Lionel fondly. He always had interesting insights into life, such as saying that pigs smelled like money. I have good memories of visiting the farm.

In my ideal childhood history , the Sanders family memories fill one whole chapter. Being a childhood friend of Amy, catapulted me into a wonderful world of family dancing, summers at Grand Lake St Mary and a dog that could signal a baby's (Ty) awakening while Jeanne was coaching a neighborhood girl's softball team, though we never had any opposing teams to play.
All the while Sandy would smile and indulge us. Such a wonderful man to create a home that was magical. Jeanne, if you don't remember these times, please believe me they happened and meant the world to many of us, meaning Amy's classmates/ friends.
There was no Sandy without Jeanne. There was no magic in my childhood world without Sandy and Jeanne.
God Bless the entire family during this hard time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

From Peggy and Tom:
Jeane and family,
We are saddened by the news of Sandy's passing. We never had a better friend. The hours spent together those many years ago have always been so precious to us. The dances, parties, family get togethers and all the laughs we shared are such wonderful memories. Being allowed to be a part of the children growing up was such a gift to us and we thank you. Sandy was a good man and loved his family. His presence in your family circle will be missed. May your memories sustain you.
Peggy and Tom
