Carolyn A. Clunk

Carolyn A. Clunk, 68 of Prospect, died peacefully Sunday morning, August 24, 2014 at her home.  She was born February 19, 1946 in Prospect to the late Carl J. and Margaret M. (Heiby) Russell.  On January 8, 1967 she married Richard E. Clunk and he died October 10, 2004. A 1964 graduate of Elgin High School, she was a dedicated restaurant owner and operator, running the Dari Point in Delaware for many years.  Carolyn was a member of the Green Camp United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school.  She loved taking care of her yard, tending to her flowers and riding her John Deere tractor.  Carolyn cared for everyone around her, always more concerned for their well-being than her own.  She will be remembered for her great sense of humor. She is survived by her life partner, Richard A. Lyon, Prospect; two sons, Larry J. (Amy) Clunk, Box Elder, South Dakota; Alan E. (Amber) Clunk, Prospect; two brothers, Ralph (Patty) Russell, Prospect; Charles (Shirley) Russell, Prospect; a special sister-in-law, Mary (Gary) Nucio, Naples, Florida; and granddaughters, Mikayla, Bethany and Maya.  She is also survived by Marke A. (Denise) Lyon, Marion; Julie (Jeff) Daily, Winter Garden, Florida; and her best friend and companion, Toby. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Green Camp United Methodist Church with Pastor Josh Freshour officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Camp Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect.
