Marilyn Cooley

Marilyn Cooley, 82 of Byhalia, died peacefully Wednesday morning, June 18, 2014 at the Gables at Green Pastures in Marysville.   She was born August 2, 1931 in Byhalia to the late Gerald and Kathryn (Cooper) Summers. On March 1, 1951 she married John A. Cooley and he died October 20, 2006.  She was also preceded in death by a step-son, George. She was a member of the Byhalia Friends Church.  Marilyn enjoyed living on the farm and taking care of the animals.  She loved tending to her African Violets.  Family was very important to Marilyn and she especially enjoyed family get-togethers. She is survived by a son, Gary (Donna) Cooley, Byhalia; a step-son, Johnny H. (Sue)  Cooley, Circleville; two sisters, Norma Jean (Jim) Skidmore, Tiffin; Phyllis Snyder, Ney; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Steve Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Byhalia Cemetery.  Friends may call on Friday from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Union County Humane Society, 16540 County Home Road, Marysville, OH 43040.
