Jerry W. Adams |
 Jerry W. Adams, age 71 of LaRue, passed away unexpectedly, early Thursday morning August 22, 2013 at the Marion General Hospital. He was born December 16, 1941 in Kenton to the late Jeremiah and Eva L. (Dutton) Adams. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles J. and Alfred E. Adams; two sisters, Alice Spitzer and Norma June Adams, and a daughter-in-law, Jean Adams.
Jerry graduated from LaRue High School in 1959, where he met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Hicks. They were united in marriage in LaRue on April 15, 1960 and shared 53 years of happiness together. Jerry worked for Whirlpool Corporation as a maintenance technician for 34 years, retiring in 2003. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards and rooting for Ohio State and the Cincinnati Bengals. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with his sister, Joan Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Adams, LaRue; two sons, Brian (Michele) Adams, Mt Gilead; Barry (Jennifer) Adams, Prospect; six grandchildren, Jordan Adams of Grandview; MacKenzie (Josh) Cox of Cardington; Bridget Adams, Mt Gilead; Bryce Adams, Prospect; Spencer Adams, Mt. Gilead; Jeremiah Adams, Mt Gilead; three step-grandchildren, Katie (Matt) McCoy, Mt Gilead; Jordan Kimes, Mt Gilead; Matthew Kimes, Mt Gilead; his sister, Joan Miller, Delaware; special brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
In memory of Jerry, the family would like those who knew and loved him to enjoy a card game with family and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday August 26, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue, where friends may call Sunday from 2-5 pm, Pastor Rick Hicks will officiate. Burial will follow in the LaRue Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to First Church of the Brethren, 860 E Church St. Marion, OH 43302-4356.

Jerry it has been one long year, I miss you so much, as do the boys and families. You were and still so special to us. Bryce and I played a game of cards for you. After 53 yrs. it\'s hard to go on without you. Still miss you so much.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. He will not be forgotten by the southern Wisconsin branch of the Class of '59.
While we will not be present, our thoughts and prayers will be with you on Monday when you celebrate his life and mourn the loss.

So sorry to learn of Jerry's passing. I have fond memories of spending one summer in the Kentucky hollow with the Hicks & Adams clan! Lots of laughter and card playing! Praying for comfort, strength and peace for Barb and the boys.
