Frances Naomi Kemp

Frances Naomi Kemp, age 94 of Somersville died Monday afternoon, April 9, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Union County.  She was born February 6, 1918 in New Holland to the late James Edward and Frances (Shipley) Anderson.  The youngest of eight children, she was preceded in death by her three sisters and four brothers.  She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Allen Kemp. On August 12, 1937 she married Delton Kemp in Washington Court House and he died February 24, 2012.  Frances and Delton were enthusiastic collectors of antiques.  She was a loving wife and mother, committed to family and farming.  She was a strong, affectionate woman who was a master basket maker and collector of historic buttons, and leaves the legacy of hard work and belief that a person never has enough flowers. She is survived by a son, Terry Delton (Barb) Kemp, York Center; two grandchildren, Joyce Kemp (Michael) Cameron, Mountain Home, Arkansas; Mark (Sabra) Kemp, York Center; three great-grandchildren, Cole Cameron, Noah (Katie) Kemp and Logan (Alicia) Rife; three great-great-grandchildren, Jackson A. Kemp and Kailee A. Rife and Carter Lynn Kemp. Memorial graveside services for Frances, as well as Delton, who passed away on February 24 will be Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the York Cemetery with Pastor Barry Scott officiating.
