Elsie Marcene Schnitzler |
Elsie Marcene Schnitzler, age 84, of Meeker, died Wednesday August 3, 2011 at 10:24 AM at her residence. She was born September 19, 1926 in Meeker, Ohio to the late Emerson and Zelma (Sloat) McKelvy. On August 30, 1947 she married Aloys (Ollie) Schnitzler and he died April 9, 1988.
Surviving are son; Charles W. (Rebecca) Schnitzler Sr. of Meeker, Grandchildren; Tina M. (Deane) Bianco of Florida, Jeffrey (Mildred) Cunningham of Galion, Charles W. Schnitzler Jr. of Meeker and Lucinda L. (Aaron Alderman) Schnitzler of Marion, Great Grandchildren; Ashlie Bianco, Abagail Chevalier and A.J. Alderman II, Sister; Edith Sharp of Meeker, and Nieces and Nephews. A daughter Linda Sue Schnitzler and a brother Alan McKelvy are deceased.
She was a homemaker, also worked for the Frazier Mfg, Marion Steam Shovel and Isaly Dairy Co all back in the 40’s. Graduated from Meeker High School in 1944 and was Salutitorian of he class. Member of the Marion County Honor Society. Member of the Meeker United Methodist Church. Was very active in her church, served on the Mission Committee, lay delegate to annual Conference at Lakeside, Nominating committee, Finance/Admin Council, Pastor/Parish Relations, Finance Chairperson, Administrative Council and Building Committee. Member of Ruth Artz Circle, Salt Rock Joymakers Club, Marion Historical Society, Marion Area Genealogical Society, Royal Highland Scottish Community, and the Marion Senior Center.
Funeral Services will be held Monday August 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Meeker United Methodist Church. Minister will be the Rev. Robin Wells. Burial in the Frame Cemetery in Meeker. Friends may call at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday.
Those who wish may make contribution to either the Meeker United Methodist Church or the Heritage Hall in Marion.

Please accept our most sincere coldolences on Elsie's passing. She was always kind, always helpful, and most importantly a positive influence on others. I will miss seeing her.

I was shocked to read of Elsie's passing as I had no idea that she was ill. We became good friends through our interest in the Marion Area Genealogy Society. She was such a pleasant person and we loved to joke with each other. She will be sorely missed. My sympathies to her family for their loss.
