Former Richwood resident
Dollie Violet Brown, 84, died
Thursday, Aug. 31, 1995 at the home
of her son near Radnor. She had
been in failing health for several
months.
The retired housemother at
the Girls Industrial School was
born in Champaign County
February 26, 1911, a daughter
of the late William A. and Clara
Dell Hopkins Hook. She married
Orville T. (Tom) Brown,
who preceded her in death in
1976.
Surviving are three sons
William of Richwood, Carroll of
Radnor and Danny of Port
Angelea, WA; two daughters
Ila LaRue of Richwood and
Ruth Chapman of Fulton, MO;
25 grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren;
and a greatgreat-
grandchild. Also surviving
is a sister Margaret Hansen
of Warren, MI. A daughter, two
sisters and two brothers are
deceased.
Funeral services for the
member of Richwood's VFW
Auxiliary were held Sunday,
Sept. 3 at Ballinger Funeral
Home with Rev. Lucian Baker
officiating. Burial was at
Claibourne Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may
