Gary Lee Bumgartner

Gary Lee Bumgartner, 59, of Marion died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Marion General Hospital after a six-month illness. He was retired from Whirlpool and was a member of the former Zion United Church of Christ in Prospect. He was formerly active in the Big Brother program. He was born Aug. 8, 1943, in Marion and was predeceased by his father Isaac L. Bumgartner. He is survived by his mother, Maxine Darst Bumgartner; a brother, Darus (Susan) Bumgartner of Marion; two sisters, Kay (Tim) Bishop of Radnor and Mary (Tim) Shoewalter of Marion; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect. The Rev. Dave Lippert will officiate and burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1580 King Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43212.
