William Joseph Schmidt

LaRUE — William Joseph Schmidt, 87, of Route 1, New Bloomington died April 20, 1970 at 12:40 p.m.: Monday in the Haveif of Rest. Nursing home at Marion after an illness of two years. Born May 7, 1882 ih Marion county, he was a son of John C. and Christina (Berger) Schmidt. A retired farmer he had resided most of his life in the New Bloomington area. Ha was a member of the New Bloomington United Methodist church and IOOF chapter. He was married to, Geneva Caroline Miller on Nov. 16, 1906 and she died Feb. 29, 1948. Surviving are a son, Milford E. of Largo, Fla. and John T. of Route 1, New Bloomington; two granddaughters; two great grandsons; brothers Paul of Akron, and Daniel of Green Camp; and sisters, Clara Im-body of Marion, and Bertha Roe of Akron, Ind. A son is deceased. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Ford funeral home with Rev. Frederick Haley officiating. Burial will be in Meeker cemetery. Ed Stofcheck is funeral director. J Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and evening.
