Ruth Ella Johnson

Ruth Ella Johnson, 70, Hender-;sonville, N.C., died Friday Oct. 23, 1987 at  Margaret Pardee Hospital there. She was born May 8, 1917, in New Bloomington, a daughter of the late Earl and Mabel Manning Drake. She married Virgil Ira Robert  Johnson in 1930. He died in 1986.  A bookkeeper for Lynn Drug Co., Columbus, for 50 years, Mrs. Johnson owned a meat shop in Columbus for 18 years. She was a graduate df New Bloomington High  School. She is survived by a son, John Richard Johnson, Selinsgrove, Pa.; a daughter, Mary Ann Johnson Rut-ter, Hendersonville, N.C.; a brother, Elsworth Drake, New Bloomington; two sisters, Helen Clapsaddle, Richwood, and Rachel Willis, Marion; and six grandchildren. Friends may call after 12:30 p.m.  until the service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at  Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue. Burial will be in LaRue Cemetery.
