RICHWOOD- Elden McCarty, 78, 103 W. Park St., Magnetic Springs, died Thursday evening Jan 22, 1987 in Union Manor, Marysville.
He was born in Pike- Township, Madison County, Oct. 10, 1908, a son of Jonas and Nellie Shockey McCarty. He was a retired, electrician and foundry, worker.
On April 5, 1929, he married the. former Lemma Chapman, and she survives in Columbus.
Also surviving are a son, Richard A. McCarty, Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Mary J. Newman, Winona, Texas; three brothers, Maurice McCarty, Milford Center, Wayne McCarty, Hart-ville, and Eugene McCarty; Magnetic Springs; four sisters, Sylvia Drum," Christianburg, Gladys Thompson, Hubbard, Opal Slaughter, Marysville, and Helen Kirisey, Milford Center; three grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
The service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Stofcheck Funeral Home by the Rev. James Sanders. Burial will follow in McCankey Cemetery, Catawba, near Springfield.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. and in the evening Sunday.
