RICHWOOD — Lavaria R. Simmons, 74, 149 W. Bomford St., died Tuesday March 9, 1993 at the Woodstock Care Center.
She was born July 27,1918, in Oak Hill to Fred and Dorthy (Edinger) Finnearty. Her father died when she was an infant and her mother remarried Bruce Smith, who raised her. Her mother and step-father are also deceased. She was first married to Howard
Reese in 1934 and he died in 1966: She then married EarlSinuhcns in 1969 and he survives. Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Union Manor in Marysville. She attended First Baptist Church, Richwood.
Also surviving are four sons, William H-, Robert W., Richard E. and Gary L. Reese, all of Richwood; two daughters, Sue A. Sarver and Cindy R. Smith, both Richwood; a stepson, Dan Simmons', Delaware; a brother, Bruce Smith, Jr., West Jefferson; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Tiptom Reynoldsburg,
and Mrs. Ceola Lykins, Portsmouth; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, Richwood, with the Rev. James Taylor officiating. Burialis in ClaibourneCem-etery. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Cancer Society.
