Rayda R. Jones

Rayda R. Jones, 70, LaRue-DeCliff Road, New Bloomington, died Sunday evening, December 5 1993, at Marion General Hospital. She was bom March 29, 1923, in LaRue, a daughter of Harold Stephen and Lois (Dickason) Roux. She was a board member of Marion Bank, was retired from serving as vice president of agricultural lending with that bank, and had also served in the same capacity with National City Bank. She was a member of LaRue United Methodist Church and LaRue Water Board; had served as the first president of LaRue Area Park Board; was a member of LaRue American Legion Auxiliary Unit 101 of which she has held all offices, as well as serving as district president for American Legion auxiliaries; and was a former member of the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce, and LaRue Village Council, of which she also had served as clerk. On July 1944, she married Robert A. Jones, and he survives. Mrs. Jones also is survived by a daughter, Robyn R. Jones, Columbus; a brother, PJchard D. Roux, LaRue; four sisters; Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Greenwood and Mrs. June Appelfeller, New Bloomington, Mrs. Jane Appelfeller, Mount Victory, and Mrs. Charles (Eloise) Lust, Marion; an aunt; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Thursday at LaRue United Methodist Church with the Rev. David M. Elliott officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are being handled by Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue. Memorial contributions may be made to LaRue Area Park.
