Mary Evelyn Lester

The service for Mary Evelyn Lester. 65,255 N. Main St.,New Bloomington, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, with the Rev. William M. Layne officiating. Burial will follow in Agosta Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Lester was pronounced dead Monday eveningin April 25, 1994 the emergency room of Marion General Hospital. She was bom Jan. 8, 1929, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Edwin and Elsie (Lindamood) Pierce, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lester, on Dec. 5, 1980. Surviving are three sons, Charles E. Lester, New Bloomington. Jack L. Lester and James D. Lester, Marion; two daughters, Carolyn Lester, Marion, and Mrs. Ralph (Marilyn) Clevenger, Bucyrus: three brothers, Harold Pierce, New Bloomington, Kenneth and Roy Pierce, Marion; three sisters, Mildred Noel and Elsie Newsome Johnson, Lucasville, and Alice Blanton, Marion; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A brother is deceased.
