Lawrence "Ted" Gantt, 86, formerly LaRue, died at midnight today, April 20, 1995 shortly before arriving at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
He was born in Hardin County Dec. 24, 1907, a son of Frank Lee and Mary (Harpel) Gantt.
He was a retired self-employed fence builder, had worked as a section worker with the former Penn Central Railroad, and drove trucks for Les Adams Trucking.
On Dec. 3, 1930, he married the former Nellie Luella Columber and she died Aug. 22, 1984.
Mr. Gantt is survived by a son, Paul Gantt, Caledonia; four daughters, Mrs. Bud (Marjorie) Daum and Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Brocklesby, Kenton, Mrs. Aaron (Lucille) Parish, Marion, and Mrs. Wilbur (Janet) Cooper, Morral; a sister, Opal Shoffner, Kenton; 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A brother and two sisters are deceased.
The service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue. Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Friday.
