Derek M. Carter,9, of Richwood died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at Memorial Hospital of Union County. He was a third-grade student at Mill Valley Elementary School and formerly attended the Harold Lewis School. He was born Nov. 21, 1988, in Deleware to Perry and Robin Thompson Carter of Richwood. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Judy Hamilton. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Tiffany and Kimber, both of the home; maternal grandparents, Mike and Karen Thompson of Richwood; paternal grandfather, Walt Hamilton of Richwood Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home m Rlchwood. The Rev, Joe Rhea will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Memorial contributions may be made to the Lowe's Syndrome Association, 222 Lincoln St., West LaFayette, Ind. 47906, or the Special Wish Foun dation, 2244 S.
