Mitchell “Mickey” Fields
Mitchell “Mickey” FieldsCorvette 1978Mitchell “Mickey” Fields, 58 of Richwood, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 27, 2016 at home.

He was born June 25, 1958 in Marion to Glenn “Ernie” and Thelma Louise (Wood) Fields.  His mother preceded him in death in 2010.

A 1976 graduate of North Union High School, he was a dedicated employee at Whirlpool Corporation for 40 years.

Family was the center of Mickey’s life and he loved family get-togethers.  His daughter, Cassi was the apple of his eye as well his future son-in-law, James whom he considered his own son.

He loved growing up in Richwood and was proud of his heritage, always supporting local businesses and activities.  A serious music lover, he was a well-known DJ around Richwood, working many events with the equally notorious DJ Fergie.  He was an avid car buff, and was most proud of his 1978 Silver Anniversary Special Edition Corvette that he bought from Mills in Richwood.

He is survived by his father, Glenn “Ernie” Fields, Richwood; a daughter, Cassi (James Garrison) Fields, Richwood; brothers and sisters, Pam (Joe) Alli, Belleville, Michigan; Kim (Thomas) James, Whitehall; numerous nieces and nephews and close friends; and several close friends of Cassi, who were just like daughters to him.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Union County Humane Society, 16540 County Home Road, Marysville, OH 43040.

We rode the bus together and always shared allot of laughs-when he got his liscense he gave me a ride to school many times. I'll always remember his great smile and loved running into him and seeing his face light up when I'd ask about his daughter. Great guy that'll be sorely missed💜

God's workings are so amazing to me. This may be hard to believe, but I was just thinking of Mickey yesterday. I was reminiscing about the "old days" and Mick just popped into my head. What a good friend he was and how much he enjoyed Corvettes. We kinda ran in different cliques, but always had a good time when we would meet and it was always great to see him. I will always cherish the times we had. May God ease your pain and grief and envelop you in His grace. Rejoice, knowing Mickey is undoubtedly racing down the golden paved streets of Heaven in a vintage 'Vette.

To the family of Mickey Fields.. I'm deeply saddened by Mickeys' passing.  I met on Line 2, second shift, at Whirlpool, 8/12/1977.... my last hire in date.  We worked together and became great friends from that moment on.  I'm gonna miss his sense of humor and his big smile.  Rest in peace, Mickey !!

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Mickey. I have known him for many years working at Whirlpool and was his supervisor for five years. He always had a smile on his face, ready to give a hug, and would shout out my name the moment he saw me. I will truly miss him. Sending hugs and prayers to his entire family-especially his daughter and father that he talked about all the time and loved so much.

I was devastated to hear of Mickey's passing. As a teenager, I spent so much time at the house it was my second home,my second family.Kim & I thought we were so cool when he'd let us go out cruising in his Dodge Aspen or take us rides on his motorcycle or in his Vette. He was always patient with us no matter how big of pests we made of ourselves! He was more than a cousin,he was like a big brother. He will be missed, yet it's good knowing he's in a better place. No more pain or sickness, with his Mom now by his side. Praying his family & friends find their own peace with his passing. Rest in Peace Mickey...
